According to a new report by Jason Schreier, a renowned and recognized name in the gaming industry – he just published a report on Bloomberg stating that the PlayStation 5 Exclusive Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake may have been delayed indefinitely, citing internal problems at Aspyr, the developers of the title.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake Delayed Indefinitely
It seems that the highly anticipated Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake has been put on hold for an indefinite period. According to a report by Jason written for Bloomberg.
The title was shown at the PlayStation Showcase last year, and while a release date wasn’t mentioned, fans were eager to hear more about the title at future shows, which never happened.
Unfortunately, the reveal trailer was the first and last we would see of the game in a long while, and now it makes sense why despite a lot of major gaming events happening, we haven’t heard an update or new media about the game in a while.
The remake was going to reimagine the 2003 original title which was a fan favorite title, developed by Bioware. The game has been ported and gotten many mods that brought it back to life, but one can only do so much with such an outdated engine. A remake was exactly what the fans wanted and Sony was looking to deliver on it by publishing the title.
Unfortunately, should the news prove true if Aspyr gives word officially in the days that follow, it could mean that the release date of the game can be pushed even further than what it was originally.
Unfortunately, incidents like this are a rarity but also a reality in the gaming world. Many promising titles would have been, get this sort of treatment and disappear. Games like Rockstar’s Agent for the PS3, Eight Days for the PS3, Scalebound for the Xbox One, and many other games have had similar fates.
With the recent event, what are your thoughts on the news? I know many fans are going to be keeping a close eye on Aspyr’s social media for the days to follow.
